Concept Overview

What is the Innovation Competition?

Huawei's AI technologies or combine them with other technologies
cloud computing, mobile Internet, and IoT, to design and implement innovative solutions for real-life scenarios

These solutions need to have commercial potential and a complete technical architecture.

A team must consist of 3 students from the same school/faculty/institute and one teacher from the same school/faculty/institute.

Technology selection: Participants must use Huawei AI-related technologies specified in the competition topics, like MindSpore, CANN, and ModelArts, to design an entry that addresses specific challenges in industries. Huawei also encourages participants to combine AI with other technologies, such as big data, cloud computing, IoT, VR/AR etc

MindSpore: Develop an innovative AI application based on MindSpore
  1. Entries must be developed using MindSpore to create AI-based innovative applications, with no restrictions on the specific application domain or scenario.
  2. Entries can make use of capabilities such as hardware-software integration and device-edge-cloud collaboration. It is recommended to present the results through a visual and interactive demo, for example, by using an Orange Pi development board.
  3. Entries for the Regional Final and the Global Final must be open-sourced to open-source communities (Gitee, GitHub, etc.).

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO FOR THIS PHASE: Preliminary and national phase

Step 1

If you haven’t registered yet, please do it here : Link

  • Before starting the registration, please make sure you have your teammates users ID (if you/they don’t have an account, please check the account creation guide attached and the steps in the last section of this email) as well as your instructor’s user ID (if he/she doesn’t have an account, please make sure you share with him/her the account creation guide dedicated for instructors, and let us know to accompany him/her).
Step 2

Create a WhatsApp group for your team

  • Name the WhatsApp group in this format: TEAM NAME – School Name – Huawei INNOVATION COMPETITION 2025-2026
  • Team Add your teammates and your instructor
  • Add Huawei Digitech Make sure you add Huawei Digitech Talent team to the group: +212693050677 and +212 622639426
Step 3

Prepare and submit the required materials:

Submit the Template 1 Entry Information Form (see attached) in Word Document format, along with other related files such as entry introduction slides, design documents, and demonstration videos (if applicable). The materials should include the following content:

  • The background and value of the solution, application scenarios and actual problems addressed.
  • Innovation interpretation, such as innovations made in algorithms and AI application scenarios.
  • Your dataset selection and data processing.
  • An explanation of key code snippets, such as model implementation, training, inference, and deployment.
  • The final achievements of the solution. Provide measurable indicators to demonstrate the effectiveness of the solution.

Review criteria

  • Innovation (60%) Innovative AI application (explore new scenarios or introduce a breakthrough in a traditional scenario.); algorithmic advancement such as model structure optimization and training strategy innovation; differentiation from existing solutions, etc.
  • Application Value (40%) Clearly identify real-world problems and resolve them; commercial potential of solutions (scalability and replicability for real-world deployment); sound and feasible technical architecture, etc.

Please continue to improve your project’s documents and make sure you upload them before the deadline. Any submission after the deadline won’t be possible. Please do it before January 30th  at 4PM.

Some tips to successfully create your account :

  • Please avoid using a space in the name area (ex: if it’s Fatima Ezzahra, please type Fatimaezzahra with no space).
  • If you find an issue to create the account using your phone number, please try using your email.
  • Make sure to associate your account to your school

How to apply for association to your school :

  • Login to your account on Huawei E-Talent
  • Click on your user ID (at the right top of the platform)
  • Click on My Information
  • Click on « Associate Student »
  • Fill in the form and click on the + in red to choose your school / faculty / institute
  • Major : Spécialité / Filière
  • Class : Study level (2nd year, 3rd year ..)
  • Enrollement year : Année de ton inscription à ton établissement
  • Graduation year : Année prévue pour l’obtention de ton diplôme
  • Student ID : Code Massar (CNE), Apogée, or CIN
